The Churches of Mérida

We have enjoyed two 3-day visits to Mérida. It is a beautiful, bustling city, full of history, colourful streets and amazing architecture. We have walked miles and miles throughout Mérida and have been happy for every blister on our tired feet. There is still so much to see!

Mérida is definitely the city of Churches. There seems to be a church and a park on every corner. Some are over 300 hundred years old and some were built by the Spaniards, using materials from Mayan creations. They are all beautiful in their simplicity. Here are just a few photos, although they cannot capture the grandeur....definitely a must-see on your next holiday to Mexico!

  2. Thanks Nancy! Yes, we have really enjoyed our time there, but I feel like we've just barely scratched the surface! Even after walking so many miles, there is still so much we haven't seen. Next time!
