Isla Mujeres 2012 ~~ Day 19-20

Isla Mujeres 2012

Wednesday Feb.29

~~Day 19  “Lazy Lazy”

Where else would I be?  Some days I really wish I could sleep in, but it just doesn’t happen!

The little fish is happy today….

Because it’s a special day….the 29th of February!

Off to la playa!  An absolutely do nothing day…..just perfect!

A quick look at the sunset while we get ready for dinner with friends….

Off to Comono, where we enjoy a great dinner with Rhondda and Malcolm….

And of course, we introduce them to our favourite dessert…..the famous chocolate tempura!

Thursday March 1

~~Day 20  “Perfection in Paradise”

I ordered up another perfect day!

A good morning for a little moped ride to enjoy the scenery and fresh air…
Down the east side to take in the waves….

A stop in Chedraui to pick up some goodies and admire the innovative displays.  Who knew brooms could look so cool!

Since there’s only a few days left we decide to just enjoy our ‘Isladise’.  The views are just perfect from right here…

Late in the afternoon we hear a roar!  A helicopter took off from the navy base right across the street from us…

Time for our favourite vino tinto…..brought all the way from home…

Thank you Quinta Ferreira for a perfect wine in a perfect location….

The kitty across the street was having fun in the neighbourhood garbage can….

And of course a few snacks to go with our wine….

And then we just sit back and enjoy the scene….

We’re not really hungry but after a walk to the north end of Hidalgo…..maybe just a few shrimp….

And a fish filet for Vince…..

And then after a walk to the south end of Hidalgo, how could we possibly pass this up!

Tomorrow…..up early and on our way to Mérida!

Isla Mujeres 2012 ~~ Day 18

Isla Mujeres 2012

Tuesday Feb.28

~~Day 18  “A Tour of Playa Norte”

It looks like it’s going to be a gorgeous day!  Up before the sun once again…

So beautiful….

And since it’s such a perfect day, we decide to take an early morning walking tour of Playa Norte.  It’s so nice to be there before the crowds arrive.  So here we go….I’ll let the photos tell the story….

What a great way to start the day!  Back home again, we find the frigates soaring around as the fishermen nearby were cleaning their catch and tossing the remains to the happy birds.  Isla Mujeres is a fishing village after all!

Looking south along the malecon…

Where I sit every morning to enjoy the sunrise…

We spend the afternoon sizzling in the sun on our private balcony and taking many dips in the refreshing dipping pool….

By late afternoon, it’s time for a moped ride and we decide on Capitan Dulche once again.  So serene here….

And scenic too….

And I think I may have found maybe not the perfect strawberry margarita, but a darn good one!

Sit back, relax and enjoy the show….free from Mother Nature…

One day we’ll come down and lounge in one of those huts for the day…

The perfect end to another perfect day…
