Sunshine on Sunday….makes sense!

Off bright and early to the ferry…..sad to see our amigos leave…don't go!!!

I think they are sadder than we are, but they are hiding the tears behind the smiles...

Adios amigos….see you next year!

The 'new and improved' ferry terminal….sigh….

At least this view is still looking like Isla….

Since we're up bright and early, we are off to the market to get the Sunday treat of cochinita pibil….there's a big line-up….

We get 2 tortas…..they look so good, but we're saving them for lunch…off for a little zoom zoom...

I love the quiet empty streets early in the morning...

Apparently chin straps are optional….I hate wearing mine too!

Home to get ready for the beach….I can't wait….surely this can be breakfast food too….just a bite or two….or maybe three……nom nom nom!  So delicious!

Well, now that we ate lunch for breakfast, we have less to carry to the beach!  And there it is, all ready and waiting, just for us!

Vince makes friends with some other Canucks…..playing a game of tossing some little balls into a pail buried in the sand. Harder than you would think….a lot of rim shots….I think the amount of cervezas being consumed had something to do with the lack of aim!

This is how we feel….Every Day….

We've been invited to Casa Flores for sunset tonight….a beautiful home mid-island, owned by our amigos Brenda and Brian.  Everyone brought delicious snacks and we gather on the rooftop to enjoy the amazing views….

Faith and John are leaving tonight and dash off to pack up the last of their things.  We hop on our scooter and head to the ferry to see them off.  Unfortunately we missed them but still enjoyed the pretty blue lights of the ferry….

We wander up Medina….a poster announcing the start of Carnaval...

We need a little snack…..I hear some sushi calling my name….off to Asia Caribe...

And then it's off to see the crowds gathered at the zocalo, enjoying music and dancing….Let the party begin!

Day 23 ~~ Saturday Mar. 1


March 1st!!!  How did it already become March 1st!?!  Time is slipping by too quickly!  One more week…shhhh, don't think about it!

The sun is getting up later and it seems that I am getting up earlier...

Sometimes as I sit and wait for el Sol to peek above the horizon, I feel impatient.  And then I take a deep breath and remember to just savour each moment…let time slow down….

Bright and early, we are off to join friends for breakfast at M & J Cazuela...

Vince is just way too darn happy to have his chaya drink….there's a lot of  'man puff' going on…table banging etc as they discuss the supposed benefits of chaya..virility, stamina, etc.  Okay boys, settle down!  Look at that smile though!  :)

We make plans to meet up for dinner tonight and then head off to la playa…..driving past the market at the north end of Guerrero...

Had to stop in at Vince's favourite little cerveza shop...

And then….aaaahhhhh…..we decide to sit on the 'Posada' beach as Carnaval is beginning and we thought we might hear some music and dancing nearby.  

Tons of room to spread out….pick a spot!

I see colourful ladies arrive on Rueda Medina…dancing time!

The lighthouse is still standing proud…..I still remember the year that we climbed up inside that one….scary!  Awesome views though!

Nice day at the beach but it is oh so nice to come home to this again….

Nice and warm today…just might have to take a late afternoon dip...

We hop on the scooter down island to Monchi's.  Ziggy is cooking tonight and we're looking forward to a yummy meal.  He has the perfect welcome!  Gracias Ziggy!

The margaritas are HUGE!!!!  And Delicious!!!!

Ziggy joins us….since this time, I believe Monchi's has closed.  Ziggy has moved on as chef at Barlito's at Marina Paraiso.  We are definitely going to be going there for dinner next time!  Get ready Ziggy!

Scooter ride back to centro where we meet up with some of the gang at Morgan's…just to continue the margarita event...

Some fool (uh Keith!) suggested tequila shooters!
