More Great Food!

We've been here about 10 days now and have enjoyed some really great meals!  Prices are up since our last visit, but a dinner out on Isla Mujeres is still cheaper than a comparable dinner out at home.  Here are 2 of our latest experiences….

Morgan's Restaurant Bar

My friend Cori of Caribbean Casa was given a gruesome task during her last visit….find me the BEST strawberry margarita on Isla.  I know it was tough work, but she did it!  She kept saying…"gotta go to Morgan's…gotta go to Morgan's".  So, of course we did!  And boy, was she right!  Nothing but fresh fruit and tequila here!   Mango, lime, strawberry….all delish!  And potent too judging by my behaviour after a recent happy hour visit!

Happy Hour is from 5-7pm   2 for $90 pesos   Worth every centavo!

And of course, it's not safe to drink on an empty tummy, so make sure you stay for a meal.  Everything from fish tacos and lobster tacos on delicious blue corn tacos, to hamburgers and grilled fish.  Something for everyone.  They also have some great sauces…tamarindo was a favourite for everyone. Great service and very reasonable prices.  My generous serving of fish tacos was $75 pesos.  Vince had the special which was 3 lobster tacos and 2 cervezas for $130 pesos.

Lots of happy faces here!

Apparently my strawberries are outnumbered by the mango lovers.  I love to be different!!

Morgan's is located on the south end of Hidalgo…..don't miss it!!!

Restaurant Asia Caribe

So, in the past 10 days we've eaten at Asia Caribe 3 times.  Are we stuck in a rut?  Who cares!  It's great food!  And my sushi cravings have been satisfied all 3 times!  Yes, I should try something else as there are many great choices on the menu, but hey, my tummy is happy!  What's not to love about a California Special Roll….

Another great choice is the Fish Tacos….made with flavourful achiote….

Our friend enjoyed a superb filet mignon….cooked to perfection as requested and butter tender.  At $320 pesos, this is an awesome meal!

And Vince totally enjoyed the Pecan-encrusted Grouper….crunchy with a hint of sweetness….a new favourite for him...

Reasonable prices, beautiful presentation and great service.  Peter and Annelise take great pride in seeing happy customers with full tummies!  They're located at the north end of Hidalgo.  Check it out!

Lolo Lorena Dinner Extravaganza!

Isla Mujeres has a lot of wonderful food…..you'll never go hungry here!  But when you're wanting a dining experience like no other, the place to go is the cozy bohemian courtyard of Lolo Lorena.  You'll be transported to a whole new level of appreciation for food and your taste buds will be working overtime!

We enjoyed another fabulous meal with friends….lost count of how many times we've had a Lolo experience but each and every one has been incredible, and last night was no exception.

We are welcomed into Lolo's home and settle into our seats at a cozy courtyard table, complete with glow balls…
