Just call him Professor Nickel!

Off he goes tomorrow morning, son #2.  Jason recently graduated from UBC Okanagan with an Honours Degree in Bachelor of Science (Physics).  Currently working on his Masters degree with intentions of continuing with Electrical Engineering.  Throughout his 4+ years at university, he has always been at or near the top of his class while taking on various jobs such as teaching physics labs, tutoring and invigilating.  We couldn't be more proud of all his accomplishments!

Out of the blue, he decided to apply for a job at Selkirk College in Castlegar, BC.  He did a Skype interview and wasn't too happy with his performance, but he obviously did something right as he was offered the job.  How many new graduates are offered a job as a Math professor?!!?  One proud mama!    He'll only be teaching the one course, so he will still have plenty of time to work on his Masters research project.  Jason will find a place to live and Melissa and Amaya will follow in a few weeks.

So tomorrow morning, bright and early, he will travel the snowy roads to the Kootenays, about 350kms away.  It's a new adventure for him and I know he is up for the challenge and will do an amazing job, as always.  His students are lucky to have him!

I will miss you so much Jason....you have always been my 'rock'....the one who could make me see all sides of a situation.  You are mature and wise beyond your years and deserve all good things that come your way.  You've worked so hard for so many years...the best is yet to come!

Travel safe and good luck, Professor Nickel!
