Mérida.....Out and About......

A few more photos to wrap up our Mérida visit.....it's such a scenic, historical city, bustling but quaint.  We love Isla Mujeres and enjoy visits to Playa del Carmen, but Mérida is Mexico.  I love the architecture of the buildings.....all the colourful façades that leave you wondering "what is behind door #1?"

On Sundays some streets are closed to traffic so bicycles can take over for a while!

Dancing and music at the square....

The square is filled with vendors selling everything from hats to churros!

We still haven't gone on a carriage ride.....next time!

A little cantina near our house that Vince enjoyed.....

Scenery.....

As we sat on our balcony sipping our refreshing margaritas, we could tell that most of this tour group wished they were sipping away with us!

We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our time in Mérida.  It seems like we walked for a million miles but there are still so many things to see.  If you are travelling to Mexico, add Mérida to your list of places to go!

  1. Absolutely gorgeous pictures, Doris. They take me back to our visits over the past several years. I may not make it next year due to my foot, but we might go to Valladolid for a day. I will truly miss the beautiful ciudad blanca.
